Our stay at Cliffhanger Cottages was incredible and we would highly recommend it to anyone. The attention to detail left us wanting for nothing and we were absolutely blown away by the views, visible from everywhere in the cottage, including the shower! The braii on the balcony & watching the sunset over the mountains are truly highlights of a wonderful trip on the garden route. Close enough to Knysna for shops etc. but distanced enough to fully immerse and hear nothing but nature. Some amazing hikes nearby with waterfalls and streams to bathe in during the summer months. Offering rustic accommodations among indigenous forest, Cliffhanger Cottages is located in the country on Knysna’s Rheenendal Road, 8.7 mi from the center of town, on a tar road. Cliffhanger offers wooden chalets with modern decor, a One-Bedroom Cottage and the Chalet, which are perched on the edge of a valley overlooking pristine indigenous forest up to the Outeniqua Mountains. There is also a smaller Budget Garden Cottage. The well-equipped kitchen facilities include a refridgerator fridge, microwave and kitchen utensils. There are many restaurants in central Knysna, a 5-minute drive. Rheenendal and the white, sandy beach of Buffelsbaai are both less than 17 minutes’ away by car.
