  • Hello, it is a little confusing looking at the pictures, and reading the reviews; is the whole house included, or is it one floor? we will be meeting family from USA, so 4 adults.

  • Hello, is one able to walk to Fisherman's beach and snorkel there? or does one need to drive to another beach for snorkeling? Many Thanks
    Fisherman's Beach is a 2 minute walk from our property and one can snorkel there,

Ours is a beautiful 4-star self-catering holiday home which is the perfect retreat for families or friends. We have a wonderful view of False Bay which stretches from Muizenberg in the west right across to Cape Hangklip in the east. Our main patio is perfect for outdoor dining, relaxing, reading, whale viewing or even taking a nap at any stage of the day. We can comfortably accommodate 6 persons in 2 double rooms and 1 twin room. Our main bedroom is en suite and the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms are served by a 2nd bathroom with bath and shower. We offer free high speed Wi-Fi throughout the house and a full bouquet of satellite TV. Our home has all the modern conveniences you would need and is fully equipped with every item you would require for the home or the beach. Our nearest beach, Fisherman's Beach, is a stone's throw away (a 2-minute walk) and is perfect for swimming, boogie boarding, beach games, sunbathing and more. Felsensicht is constantly being upgraded and is always in tip-top condition. Our caretaker is always on hand to attend to all your needs and my husband and I are just a phone call or an email away. We look forward to hosting you at Felsensicht.
I am a retired teacher having spent many years teaching mathematics, English and computer literacy. I manage all aspects of the bookings at Felsensicht, which takes up a fair amount of my time. In my spare time, I attend the gym in order to stay fit for cycling. Between us, my husband and I have completed 31 Cape Argus Cycle races and we have recently returned from a wonderful cycling trip in Tuscany. I also enjoy playing bridge at tournament level as well as attending bridge lessons and playing online. My husband and I are very keen birders and many of our holidays are spent birding/game viewing in the bush in South Africa, Namibia or Botswana.
Simon's Town grew up around the naval base and still has very much of a nautical feel. One often sees sailors in their smart uniforms walking about in the streets, the harbour is a hive of activity from where one can take boat trips on the bay (fishing, birding etc), go out paddling, shop at any one of the quaint stores selling bric a brac, penguin souvenirs etc or eat at a number of excellent restaurants (Sushi, Italian, Fish and more). The naval museum is a "must-visit" and, of course, one couldn't leave Simon's Town without paying a visit to the Penguins at the Boulders World Heritage site. 12 km south of Simon's Town, Cape Point, with its magnificent fynbos, is also a favourite destination for walking, cycling or enjoying a trip up the funicular to the lighthouse at Cape Point. Venturing towards the city itself, a drive up Chapman's Peak, with its magnificent views of the Atlantic, is also a favourite amongst visitors as well as a visit to the Kirstenbosch National Botannical Gardens. Of course, one would also not miss a visit to Table Mountain (take the cable car or hike up one of the many routes offered), the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront or Robben Island.
