About this property

Located within the Marloth Nature Reserve, this 4-star lodge offers breathtaking views of the mountains, river and forest. Fishing is possible in Gaikou’s 2 dams, surrounded by native wild flowers. The luxuriously decorated rooms and villas include private patios or wide verandas. Flat-screen TVs, kitchenettes and bathtubs are standard in all units. Visitors can enjoy hiking and walking trails on foot or on horseback. There is a river trail on the property, where lure and fly fishing can be practiced. Breakfast is served on Gaikou Lodge’s veranda or inside, at the reception area. The historic Swellendam can be found 20 minutes’ walk from the lodge. Free private parking is possible on site.

Gaikou Lodge was lovely built with much attention to detail by the owners who also own Mardouw Olive Estate about 30kms out of Swellendam where we also have an elegant 5 Bedroomed Manor House with en suite bedrooms, infinity pool and Gold Award winning olive products for tastings.

GAIKOU LODGE WELCOMES FAMILIES AS WELL AS BUSINESS PEOPLE, WITH ROOMS CATERING FOR EACH INDIVIDUALS NEEDS. Gaikou Lodge offers bed & breakfast (B&B) accommodation on a 16 hectare private property at the foothills of the Langeberg Mountain, within walking distance from central Swellendam’s shops, attractions and restaurants. We have so much for you to do here hiking, cycling, golf driving range, 2 dams for fishing, Petanque (French Bowles), our own football pitch and we are situated within the Marloth Nature Reserve.

Neighborhood info

Swellendam is a very beautiful, historic town with lots of character, the Marloth Nature reserve has many trails and cycling tracks to explore. There is also the Bontebok National Park very close. Many great restaurants for dinner and lunchtime meals.
