Just off the highway, but seems like you are in secluded area. Beautiful garden and unique building. About 5 minutes drive outside of Bethlehem. Attention to detail. right down to a colour-coded library. And amazing rusks!

We absolutely loved La Motte. The hosts were warm, welcoming and friendly. I loved the magical room we stayed in. I felt like a Bedouin queen surrounded by treasured antiques, beautiful quilts, happy colours and quirky touches. The dogs were adorable and it took the utmost resistance not to have them come into the room for more love and cuddles. Despite the drought, the garden and paths still held their tranquility and beauty. I wished we could have stayed longer as this is a definitely a place to unwind and recharge.

Family friendly accommodation situated in the picturesque Eastern Free State, South Africa. Four km outside Bethlehem on the road (N5) to Clarens and Harrismith. La Motte B&B have five guestrooms with rustic old world charm, three located inside the farmhouse and two in a garden cottage. Each room has a private entrance and en suite bathroom. Enjoy the amazing views from and peaceful atmosphere of the large gardens. Ideal for weekend breakaways, longer stays for exploring the Eastern Free State or when attending events in Bethlehem and surrounds.
Lou and Francine are retirees with a wide variety of interests and hobbies. We love hand crafts, many of which are displayed in our guestrooms.
La Motte B&B is situated four km outside Bethlehem on a small farm.
