The unit was large and comfortable for two people, nicely spaced away from other units and surrounded by forest. Wonderful view from the upper deck and the honesty bar was great for a quiet drink.

Very nice stay! The team is great, they booked us a tour at Hluhluwe Park and we did a night walk inside the reserve, wonderful experience! You can walk around to see some animals as zebras or giraffes, so beautiful. The place is really peaceful. And all the staff very helpful, thank you!

I loved it. It is nice and quiet, set in the forest. Great place to stay for some quiet time and to get in touch with nature. Chalets were very nice too. I only regret not staying longer. We had 4 genets visit us in the evening. That was awesome!

What a gem! Beautiful location and the cottage is beautifully kitted out but fitting of a bush stay. The addition of the kitchenette on the verandah to allow for self-catering has been so well done. The natural bush is lovely and the various trails through the forest area did not disappoint.

Located just a 10-minute drive outside the town of Hluhluwe, on the R22 to Sodwana, this lodge offers spacious rooms with a patio. Umkhumbi features an outdoor pool, a restaurant, and a tree top bar.

  • Hi, is an alcohol allowed in a premises?
    Hello - yes alcohol is allowed for consumption in your chalet. We also have a bar onsite. We do ask that guests drink responsibly and keep noise down so other guests are not disturbed.
