Thalassa's forms part of the very first, original farm house in the area. This large house was built on top of a hill overlooking the ocean in the distance. The ocean is close enough to spot whales and to be lulled to sleep during high tide. There are a whopping 8 Royal King Palm trees on the property as well as a Wild Fig that provides much needed shade during those balmy summer days. Thalassa's is centrally located on the Hibiscus Coast that stretches across 130km and boasts 58 beaches (of which 7 are Blue Flag) and 21 tidal pools. It truly is paradise. The large, enclosed yard is big enough for dogs of all sizes and to tucker out your children before bed. Thalassa's was created with the idea of being a cozy, comfortable, clean and peaceful spot that guests return to multiple times. A place where pets are welcome.

We are passionate about beach hopping between Bazley and Port Edward, always finding new hidden gems. We also love hiking and there are many hiking spots all along the coast. Drone flying, kite flying and early morning coffee with the sunrise on the nearby Southport beach. We are happy to share our "inside info" with our guests :)

It is located sandwiched between Sunwich Port and Sea Park, on the South Coast of KwaZulu Natal. Southport and the various little Suburbs, tend to regard themselves as extensions of Port Shepstone, so there is rarely anything to disturb a holiday idyll along this lovely stretch of Coastline. There is only 8 kilometres of travel to reach the variety of Shops, Restaurants and other entertainment in Port Shepstone, or the ‘buzz’ of Beach resorts in Shelly Beach, St Michaels, Uvongo and Margate. (Southport is popular amongst those who seek the buzz only when and if they choose to do so.) Southport in the old days was little more than a Railway Siding. However in today's time; there are at least 10 golf courses within a 50 kilometre radius of Southport; nature Reserves, hiking trails and snorkeling sites abound. Some of the best fishing spots are very close by; Oribi Gorge is just inland of Southport and well worth a day’s visit and, if you are a diving fanatic, Aliwal Shoal is close to the Village of Umkomaas. This is only one of the most spectacular dives particularly in the Cathedral Area of the reef. The Southport Beach is very popular and both holiday makers and locals keep on returning to it and it is not difficult to understand why it is such a firm favorite. Also known as the Anerley Beach, this picturesque beach has it all. With a safe swimming beach that is manned by capable life guards, shark nets, a tidal pool that is both kid and adult friendly, rocky areas and rock pools to explore, gorgeous views and to top it all; it is a Blue Flag beach. This little Suburb is a perfect location for a Beach Holiday!
