I cannot believe I had to pay $50 a night to park in THEIR parking structure and also had to pay for wi-fi EACH time I used it and they do NOT even mention it when you are checking in. I think that is really terrible. I will never stay here again. I can find cheaper places that don’t charge for that Shame on booking.com doesn’t even tell you either… the only way you can find it is if you read every policy. They should state there are additional fees for these. Way too much money. Don’t do it.

I liked the location and the old style hotel is very cool but not worth all that money

We could have been told up front about the awful noise in this room,

I would never have booked this room had I k own it was right over the trolly station and even with the windows closed, the trolly horn which went off each time the trolly came into the station twice an hour 18 hours per day. It was a loud, jarring sound that was disruptive,

A water fountain on the floors would be lovely but that you to Andrea(?) at the front desk for loading us up with mini water bottles to keep us going!

The staff at this hotel was SO INCREDIBLE from the moment you check in (actually even before check in) you are met with the kindest friendliest people! Special shoutouts to Al from Valet, John Mark at the doors Madison our bartender at the Westgate room Remi our pool bartender and maybe a manager(?) and Sarah who sent us complimentary Evian for our anniversary! Plus the kindest front desk agents who were there for us at every point in our stay! And you know it’s not just us because everyone who walked into the Westgate was not only greeted by name but greeted the staff by name which is how you KNOW they’ve made a lasting impression. Come for the beautiful French art and decor and the stellar rooftop pool and fitness center but STAY For the heart of the Westgate hotel- the people who make it happen!

I didn't like the extra fee for a look of the city to only see homeless people sleeping below on our side of the building view.

I loved the inside atmosphere of the hotel, the rooms were super clean and comfortable. Staff and valet were very friendly and helpful.

“We were very disappointed by the hotel's neglect of guest requests and lack of attentive service.”

Our family had a wonderful time at San Diego but the hotel experience ruined all the happiness. After checking out at 11am, we left the hotel. On around 11:30am, we suddenly realized that my daughter's beloved toy, a stuffed Peppa Pig, had been left behind on the bed where she had slept with it the previous night. I contacted the hotel immediately and requested their assistance in looking for the toy. Regrettably, they informed me that nothing had been found in the room. I implored them to search more diligently, as I was confident that the toy was tucked away beneath the bedding. This toy is so important to my daughter as she relies on it for comfort each night. She was truly heart-broken upon realizing the toy was lost. It is disheartening to think that our experience could have been salvaged if the hotel staff had simply performed their duties and thoroughly checked the bed. As a result of this bad experience, I have lost faith in the hotel's service and will not consider staying there again. I now harbor serious doubts about their willingness to assist guests in times of need.

It was a little stuffy feeling. Housekeeping didn't clean our room one of the days and that was very disappointing when you are paying for a certain level of service. The area around the hotel was not nice. You could not take a bath in the room we had. The dining options were limited and the there was nobody eating in the restaurants so it felt strange being the only ones in there.

It was very beautiful. The staff was friendly.

The trolley stop is right outside of the hotel and it makes noises all night along even when service is stopped, as other trollies pass and are mandated to sound an alarm type noise when they pass. this was loud and distracting middle of the night. Its also near a fire station so there were alarms/noise from that also. If you’re a light sleeper this may be an issue. We turned on white noise app on the phone and seemed to help a bit.

It is gorgeous inside, friendly staff, clean. The breakfast was delicious, and they have their own fresh squeezed healthy juices that my family enjoyed.
