Loved staying in a real castle. Our room was quirky but comfortable and clean with a nice ensuite. The food at dinner and breakfast was very good.

Spotlessly clean and cosy. The bed was very comfortable. Staff were efficient, super nice and friendly, and extremely helpful. Food was very good . Wine was really good and reasonably priced. Plenty of on road parking in front of the Inn. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Nicely furnished, blending modern with the inn’s traditional features. I didn’t have my dog with me but if there is a more dog friendly establishment out there I’d be surprised!

It really is a castle and the bedroom was amazing. The grounds are lovely and the dinner and breakfast rooms were atmospheric so the whole visit was great.

Dinner and breakfast were both excellent, but if you were on full dinner as opposed to Bistro then the preliminaries were a nice surprise as was the amuse-bouche. The main course was excellent and I could not cope with a dessert as well.

A genuine pub full of character but with really modern bedroom fittings, obviously very recently refurbished. Huge bed which was very comfortable. Adequate bathroom facilities. Dinner was very good indeed - a good choice for each course and cooked by a chef who clearly knew how to cook meat to retain succulence. Staff very friendly and efficient. Having driven over 5 hrs in appalling conditions the Royal Oak was like an oasis in the desert!

Lovely feel to the property. Staff were fantastic! Although they appeared short staffed the service did not suffer and they were professional and polite. Bedroom was beautiful! Nice and cosy but clean and comfortable. Food for both dinner and breakfast was exceptional.
