A lovely country pub with excellent facilities in a really nice village. Our room was a very generous size with ensuite. Everything was clean and well prepared. The owners made us feel at home and very welcome. We had a lovely breakfast.

The room was on a quaint street near the cathedral. I could hear the bells.it was quaint and how I imagined an old pub to be. Even though I had a single room, it was quite roomy.very clean.

Loved the location, the room was comfortable and clean and the staff was absolutely lovely! The room was great, really nicely decorated and I loved the dim lights. The food was delicious and reasonably priced.

The pictures reflect what you get, I knew it wasn't going to be posh, is the typical English style hotel, perfect for few night, it has everything you need and I found all the staff super helpful and kind. So far the best place I have been in York. Getting in and out the gate is easy at any time you go back, breakfast was also really good I did have it included but it was discontinued because I was sleeping there and there was a very nice selection of food. It also has a parking that you can use which is York is very hard to find and the location is brilliant.

Old rustic full of character and stories. Room was spacious very clean with a four poster bed, Mini fridge, Soaps shampoo, conditioner everything you need for a night away. Staff are welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Great food, fab location. Great atmosphere. 100 recommend. We will definitely be visiting again.
