Toni was an excellent host - welcoming, approachable and knowledgeable about Kyoto's history, places of interest and restaurants. The hostel was so beautifully furnished and designed in a traditional Japanese style, which will feature well in anyone's social media post. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Certainly, this place is up there to be the best accommodation that I have stayed in.

we really liked the the location and the overall energy and environment of the place. it’s clean, neat, minimal and organized. The hosts were amazing and cooked a personalized breakfast for us and especially made for vegetarian. They also cleaned and organized our room during the stay and were always there to help. Room size was bigger than what we had before. It is equipmed with everything you need. Including washing machine and detergent that was life saver for us since we usually travel with hand luggage. Staff was nice. Hotel has book of rules that needs to be followed, in general sounds funny but it is common sense rules and we didn't find any problem with that. It actually helped for some things to figure how to use. Location is super nice, close to bus, Kyoto station and two big temples. Distance to walk to busy touristic locations was 30-40 min. I would recommend this place

The staff had little English, but we both tried hard and good-naturedly, and successfully to communicate. The neighborhood was charming and not touristy. Very comfortable.
