Cooked breakfast - good. Buffet table missing items which you would normally find in a hotel of that standard ie fresh fruit, continental meats, bread rolls and cheese. Dinner - ok
Central location . Mix of pub/hotel/restaurant. Charming old building with parking at rear. Very friendly welcome on check in. Room comfortable with lovely beams - generous sized bathroom. Comfortable bed. Dinner - not a good experience. Breakfast was excellent.
Good location not too far to walk from rail station. Great to have Inn next door for refreshments. Everything in the room was clean, nearly new and good quality.
It was clean and comfortable. It was close enough to walk to the town for dinner.
Lovely staff, very helpful and friendly. Pool was nice and the room was spacious, complimentary cans and chocolate in mini fridge, breakfast was lovely with lots of choice. Good value for a dinner/breakfast deal. 3 courses evening meal, not bad choices considering the price.
Breakfast and staff excellent - annex was satisfactory (bit hard to find in the dark (a simple paper map would help) bit of traffic noise from busy main road but otherwise v clean / warm / private. Evng meal was good / convenient from 6pm in nearby Ram Inn but expt it could get busy later in evng.
Proper old school Inn. Absolutely brilliant location and staff
Despite being very busy all the staff were very friendly and happy to assist. The ‘Brewers Breakfast’ was fantastic as were the meals we had for dinner. Their own beers brewed on the premises were all very moreish and backed up by an extensive wine list. The bedroom we stayed in was very comfortable with a super soft king-size bed, tea&coffee making facilities, very good Wi-Fi and a powerful shower with plenty of hot water. The location is in the heart of Bury St Edmunds a 7minute walk from the railway station and town centre.
Decor although clean and tidy was quite austere. Dinner was average. Breakfast generally cooked well.
It is an amazing guest house so much history so glad that they open it up to the general public during the winter months I am so glad we managed to get a stay here, the staff are wonderful, friendly and it is just an amazing place, great shops just behind and sat and watched the aurora lights and listened to the sea short walk into town with a good selection of shops what more can you want to location. This was a great get away from our busy jobs and time to relax and we certainly did that
