Good value of money. 10 minutes from the train station and next to shopping areas. Earplugs are provided in case noise from the street closeby. The best was a small fan in place in each bed compartment. Kitchen and dinning area are available for use.

The host is a lovely lady. She doesn't speak any english but helped us with dinner and grocery suggestions. She really makes an effort to make you comfortable. She also provided toast and jam, as well as coffee/tea for breakfast. Towels were also provided and the beds were comfortable. It was also nice having an angled ladder to the top bunks rather than the vertical ladders we have found in many other hostels/guesthouses.

We very much enjoyed our 3 days at TheMana! Our little highlights were the private bath on the room balcony with a nice view at the moon and the sea, very delicious japanse dinners - one night served on the restaurant porch overlooking the sea, and a nice walk along the cliffs and through the villages right off the hotel. The entire staff was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. It was the perfect relaxing retreat with a nice local touch after 2.5 weeks of traveling Japan.

The owner is super friendly. He gave me a free bike rental to check out the area. Room was comfortable . If he offers to cook you dinner or breakfast (for an extra charge) I would highly recommend it! He is a great cook and always has the freshest fish. We had a good time talking about anime and Studio Ghibli.

The host, Kenji-san, was super nice when he realised that my friend and I did not have any dinner and was kind enough to drive us out to a nearby shop to get what we need and drove us back. The house and room was wonderful with intricate details that really made the stay even more wonderful. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for accommodation in Shimanto.

This is the second time that I've stayed at a Comfort hotel. They having a winning formula for a low mid-budget traveller such as myself. Spacious double for single occupancy, breakast buffet included in price. Good sound insulation.

Authentic stay in an old farm house by the river. Two big rooms plus common dining room and use of kitchen. Japanese style hotel with futon beds and as it is an old style house, the bathroom is outside up only a few metres away. Owners was great and cooked us good dinner and breakfast (arranged before arrival). Lovely swim in the river afternoon and morning.

Danny is an excellent host and extremely helpful and accommodating. He is an excellent cook too. He cooked breakfast and grilled dinner for us. It was both delicious and very reasonable priced. He also took us to a local concert that was fabulous. We feel he would go out of the way to make his guests feel at home. Thank you very much Danny. :)
