Matala is a magical village on the southern coast of Crete, known for its golden beach, clear turquoise waters, and the mysterious caves carved into the cliffside. The atmosphere in the village is relaxed and artistic, with colorful murals, live music, and a genuine sense of peace. The beach is perfect for swimming and sunbathing, and just a short hike away is the stunning Red Beach, ideal for those looking for a more secluded spot. The town itself is small but full of charm, with cozy tavernas and friendly locals. We stayed at a quiet, clean hotel that felt like a peaceful retreat after days in the sun. We originally booked just a couple of nights, but Matala was so amazing that we extended our stay. Waking up each morning to the sound of the sea and enjoying a coffee with a view of the cliffs made it hard to leave. Matala is more than a destination—it’s a feeling, one that stays with you long after you’ve gone.

Great location right near the square in Matala. Easy to find Maria in the shop to collect the keys. Very clean and well equipped, would recommend and would stay again. Thank you for the bottle of Cretan wine too!

The villa is in the town of Pitsidia which is a lovely town with several Tavernas, a good supermarket, a butcher and a bakery. The local area is quiet but well located to visit the popular local beaches at Matala and Kalamaki. The beds and living areas (both inside and out) are very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped for self catering. The pool is a good size and was very clean. The villa would be very family friendly with lots of toys and play equipment for children. Communication with Monica was good and she very kindly allowed us an early check-in on our arrival day.

Adama is a brand new place, just recently built. The whole experience was fantastic, from our arrival and warm welcome by the host until our departure. It has just perfect location - not in the very downtown of Matala or by the beach, where all the noise is, but literally minutes away from it, providing super quiet, tranquil accommodation and easy access to Matala vibe places at the same time. And you have the whole Matala in your hand when looking out of the window. The houses are tastefully decorated, well thought through and equipped with basically everything we needed. The beds are definitely a highlight. Not too soft, not too hard, inviting you to the best night's sleep you've had in years! There's kitchenette and Wifi and all kinds of other stuff. However, what makes Adama truly stand out from all other luxurious places in Crete are the hosts, who are ready to do way more than an extra mile to make you feel welcome and comfortable. I am seriously considering doing my vacation there for several consecutive years, just for the sake of Adama!

Beautiful property located just outside of Matala. Pitsidia is a great little town with a bit of peace and quiet outside of the tourist areas. Room was spacious enough for our family of 3, good A/C, nice small balcony, everything we needed for a nice stay. Pool was also great after a long day walking around. Owner Maria was very nice!

We highly recommend staying! The hosts were lovely, spoiling us with tasty treats and good recommendations. The location is literally 10 steps from the beautiful Kalamaki beach and the tasteful apartment has both a balconey for breakfast overlooking the sea and a roof with sunbeds and jaccuzi - true relaxation with gorgeous views.

Very friendly and helpful owners and staff. On site parking. Perfect location for everything in the village. Swimming pool and sun bathing area. Gorgeous apartment: clean, spacious with our own large patio that had a lemon tree for fruit and shade as well as a table and cooking facilities. Room serviced every day.
