The location was good and it was still quiet. Everything worked in the place. It was a fairly easy walk to the local train station and restaurants and other small stores in Lucrino. In addition Lago de Averno is also an easy walk and you can take a nice walk around the lake through mainly a park like setting with restaurants, a winery, a place that raises bees, and even old Roman ruin. The breakfast was fine, it is prepackaged food though, Lucrino has a nice coffee shop and the owner speaks English. They had tea and coffee available with a machine. I do not drink coffee and when I mentioned I liked the Cafe de Ginseng, Manu brought me pods for that (I didn't even realize they had pods for Ginseng)! After I asked they also provided juice boxes too. It is run by multiple related families that live in the compound and above the rooms, so there seems to always be someone around, which is good for security. There is a designated parking spot in the compound. I am not sure anyone speaks English, except Manu who was very nice and pleasant when we met on the weekend. She does work during the week so be prepared to use a translator app if you have questions on arrival and do not speak Italian. The check-in instructions were very good though. They did answer questions through Booking.com quickly and they could have explained better what they wanted us to send to check-in when they contacted me on What's App (for non-EU it is your passport page). Ask about the walk in gate at the top of the street in front of the compound, it looks locked but isn't and could save walking depending where you are going (or driving if you are meeting someone). Even with a few minor things mentioned next I would definitely stay again if in the area!

The hosts were very responsive to all of our request. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. My wife and I throughly enjoyed the Neapolitan meal the host prepared for us out on the terrace along with the spectacular view!! We will be making our way back here soon.

The location was very quiet, which was perfect for me and my friend who were after a quiet getaway but not too far from Naples. The villa is located down a quiet dead end road. It is very spacious and has a lovely private outdoor area which would be perfect for a family. The only problem was the access to public transport. On arrival we were advised by our host, Valentina, to hire a car. I was not keen on this as I was not confident driving on the other side of the road to the UK! Valentina provided us with contact details for a local taxi driver, Gennaro, who was fabulous. He took us to Pozzuoli train station everyday and was always 15 minutes early to collect us and 100% reliable. He gave us a guided tour of the places we were driving through and advised us on the best way to get places by train. We let him know what time we would be returning on the train from Naples and he would be waiting outside the station on our arrival. We thought we would be able to walk to the station/ bus stop but the main road is fast and with no pavement we decided not to try that again after one attempt. We did not see a bus throughout our stay and we were informed that they are very unreliable. Valentina contacted me a few days before our arrival by Whatsapp to provide me with details about the villa. She waited up until the early hours to make sure we had arrived safely and was on hand to give the taxi driver directions from the airport in Italian. She came to the villa early on our first morning with pastries, coffee and other essentials. She took us into the nearest town to pick up some other groceries. Naples is a half hour train journey from Pozzuoli. You can get a train from Naples to Pompeii, Vesuvius, Herculaneum, Sorrento, and Rome is an hour away by train. The villa was immaculate and very clean.
