- we had a beautiful huge room, with large bed and sofa and massage bath + beautiful shower - staff extremely helpful and nice - breakfast was simple but tasty and sufficient - there were some adult content advertisements + supplement, which we’ve just pushed to the side, and simply enjoyed as a tourist hotel - a few restaurants around within 5-10 min walk

breakfast was amazing! A good mix of local ingredients, and wide variety. Totally worth it. We have the Japanese room, and futons were really comfy and the room was huge! We wish we could have stayed longer.

The completely nonsmoking Ryokan Matsukaze is just 10-minute walk or a 5-minute drive from JR Matsumoto Train Station. The ryokan offers simply furnished Japanese rooms with futon beds.
