But the true gem of this hotel is the staff — especially the owner. She was incredibly kind and welcoming. We honestly felt like we were visiting a distant aunt who was there for us no matter what. A genuinely warm-hearted person, always ready to help with directions, solve any issue, and make sure you feel at home in the city. Yes, it’s listed as a 2-star hotel — probably because it’s small — but I would add two more stars just for the hospitality and care alone. The breakfast was also authentic and really enjoyable! We stayed in several 5-star hotels during our trip around southern China, including Chongqing and Chengdu — and while those were nice, if you’re looking for an authentic, family-style experience full of warmth and human connection, this is the place to go. From the thoughtful recommendations to the personal attention — everything was simply perfect.
