The first thing I said to my wife when we got into the room was, “I want my bedroom to be like this!” It is so beautifully decorated and well-kept. We arrived extremely early and were allowed to check-in early and have breakfast (cannot say that this is the norm, and should be an expectation, this is just our experience). The bath is lovely and the water-pressure from the shower is amazing…..possibly the best shower I’ve had! We appreciated how close it is to the National Park and the Grand Canyon. The staff were very helpful and so welcoming. We managed to book all of our excursions through the hotel and all of our questions (of which there were many!) were answered. If I were to revisit Zhangjiajie, I would stay at this hotel without hesitation. Oh, and a special thank you for collecting us from the train station!

We stayed for three nights in this hotel to visit Zhangjiajie national park and Grand canyon. The staff was very helpful, gave us tips and a marked map to navigate easily in the park. All the reception ladies are very helpful, they made our trip a lot easier. We had a room on the third floor with a balcony. The room was equipped with all the necessities, housekeeping was everyday. Breakfast was in chinese style. Location is optimal, it's around 15 min. walk from the park entrance. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A very beautiful little Hotel right next to the Park Entrance. Perfect place to start your Hikes. The host Anthony is English speaking and very welcoming, he helped us to book tickets and recommended suitable routes through the park and took the time to chat with us every night over a beer or two and telling us about Zhangjiajie. The Rooms are large and newly decorated, everything from Beds to Bathrooms are brand new. There are several restaurants along the road in short walking distance. I can't think of a better place to stay if you want to visit Wulingyuan. Great Value. Highly recommended.

We completely enjoyed our stay! The staff was always ready to help with all the facilities, excursions, taxis and all other things. Great thanks and appreciation to the staff! They made our days comfortable. Rooms were clean and spacious with a nice authentic interior.

The location is perfect, only 5-10min from the airport with taxi. The staff super helpful, the first day they help us to buy the tickets to Tian men shang and the avatars mountain. They also explain us the best rout to visit these places, this help us a lot with our schedule. Also they upgrade our room for free.

The hosts went above and beyond: they prepared herbal foot baths after long hiking days, customized a vegetarian breakfast with local wild vegetable dumplings, and even arranged a private bilingual guide who revealed hidden viewpoints ahead of tourist crowds. The room seamlessly blended traditional Tusheng architecture with modern comforts (think heated floors and rainfall showers). What truly stood out was the proactive service—they contacted us pre-arrival to coordinate luggage storage and secured park tickets during peak season. If you seek authenticity over luxury, this family-run gem delivers soul-stirring moments you won’t find at chain hotels.

This place truly deserves a 5-star rating. First and foremost, the location is absolutely perfect. It strikes a brilliant balance between easy access to the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and offering a peaceful, comfortable retreat after a day of hiking. The views of the quartz-sandstone peaks from the hotel are simply breathtaking. The service was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They were incredibly attentive, friendly, and provided great advice for planning our daily excursions. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and very thoughtfully designed. It was so relaxing to come back to such a comfortable and stylish space. We also have to compliment the hotel's restaurant. The breakfast buffet had a great variety of both Chinese and Western options, giving us a perfect start to each day. The dinners we had were delicious and used high-quality ingredients. Merlot Crystal is more than just a place to sleep; it's an essential part of the magical Zhangjiajie experience. We left feeling rejuvenated and with wonderful memories. We would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Exceptional Hospitality!​​ Our stay at Hua Ting Guesthouse was an unforgettable part of our Zhangjiajiaje experience. The main reason for our visit was to see the "Avatar Mountains," and this guesthouse proved to be the perfect choice. The location is incredibly convenient, just a short walk from the South Gate of the National Forest Park. This allowed us to get an early start to beat the crowds to the Yuanjiajie Scenic Area (where the "Hallelujah Mountain" pillar is). After a long day of hiking and being amazed by the floating peaks that inspired the world of Pandora, it was such a relief to know a comfortable and welcoming place was so close by. The highest praise, however, goes to the owner, Mrs. Wang. Her service was absolutely outstanding! She is not only incredibly warm and friendly but also highly professional. Upon our arrival, she sat down with us with a detailed map and gave us a brilliant itinerary to optimize our time. She explained exactly which buses to take, the best order to see the sights, and even the perfect timing to catch the sunset. Her advice saved us so much time and confusion. She made us feel like family, always asking about our day and offering us tea. Her hospitality truly made our trip seamless and much more enjoyable. The guesthouse itself is charming, very clean, and has a lovely, peaceful courtyard—a great place to relax in the evening. The rooms are cozy and well-maintained. If you are visiting Zhangjiajie for the Avatar mountains, look no further. You not only get great value and location but also the invaluable, kind guidance from Mrs. Wang. We cannot recommend Hua Ting Guesthouse highly enough! Thank you for making our trip so special!
