The history of the chateau, as told by Rafeal, was fascinating. The large room and bed were wonderful after our long, cramped flight. And the relaxed chatty breakfast on a rainy morning was equally excellent!

A superb place to stay. Loads of space for a couple and a great kitchen to make meals and feel at home. Lovely just sitting on the porch enjoying the view. A shop is a short cycle/drive away. Town is 30min walk and mainly with pavement/sidewalk.

The apartment was very tastefully furnished and well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable one-week stay, with added benefits of a huge home-cinema screen with surround sound, and a jacuzzi! Air-conditioning in all rooms was a bonus too. The kitchen was also well equipped with everything we needed to prepare simple meals (e.g. omelettes for breakfast) using an electric cooker (although there's no proper stove or oven, so don't expect to be able to cook sophisticated dinners, which we were not planning to do anyway, so it was not a problem for us). Other plusses included the little balcony to sit on in the morning sunshine and the secure parking for our car (behind an electronically controlled gate). Brigitte and her husband were fantastic hosts who made us feel very welcome and were not intrusive. They also gave us some good tips about things to visit and restaurants to try out in the area. Merci beaucoup! :-) The location was also very good, being situated on the eastern edge of Fronsac and a very short distance from Libourne (which has many shops and restaurants to choose from - we'd particularly recommend the Bistro Maritime for dinner, but make sure you book in advance). It's also only about 10 minutes by car from the Pomerol area and the wonderful Saint-Émilion is about 14 minutes away, so it was an ideal base for exploring the winery châteaux of the region (Bordeaux itself is a 40-minute drive away, which is easily doable as a day trip, but you'd probably want to be closer to Bordeaux if you want to explore the 'rive gauche' wine areas of Médoc, Pauillac, Saint-Estèphe, Margaux, etc.)

Cameron & Paris have thought of everything and offer a special holiday accommodation that far exceeded our expectation. The house is very well appointed with three good sized bedrooms, the master is huge with en-suite bathroom and extremely large and comfortable bed. The location is good for exploring the Bordeaux region with some excellent restaurants as recommended by the hosts. When not exploring this beautiful part of France the swimming pool is fantastic. I would definitely recommend Le Bon Ami.
