I liked everything about this hotel, from the varied and delicious breakfast to the kind and helpful staff at the desk. Everywhere smelled amazing. An easy walk to the old town. Lovely traditional Cretan bakery a few metres away and a well-stocked supermarket up the road. Shower pressure was incredible!

Built in 1925 and classified as a monument, the GDM Megaron is located in the heart of Heraklion, overlooking the old Venetian port and within walking distance of all the major sights of the city. Location was perfect and easy walk around the old town. The staff were awesome and very focused on ensuring we had a great stay. They had excellent recommendations for local restaurants.

The breakfast was very good and varied. The hotel staff were always available and extremely helpful, eager to inform about all the attractions and events in the city and surrounding area.

I had stayed there before the renovations, so it was great to see it after the renovations— very good work from the owner. Just to let you know, it is not suitable for people with mobility disabilities.
