Very spacious and beautifully presented rooms in traditional Ryokan in the middle of Shibu Onsen. Comfortable Tatami beds. Great to have private toilet. The onsite outdoor private Onsen and inside (male/female) onsens were fantastic. Loved the supplied Yukata and Geta for the Onsens. Key supplied for all public onsens through town. The owners were so helpful and kind, driving us to and from snow monkeys and to Yudanaka station for our train. Enjoyed the traditional home made breakfast delivered to our room at reasonable price in beautiful bento box.

志賀高原 白い温泉 渓谷の湯 in Yamanouchi provides adults-only accommodation with an open-air bath and a shared lounge. The accommodation has a spa bath and a private open-air bath. The location and scenery were beautiful. The room was tasteful and luxurious. The food was delicious and authentic. The staff were lovely, it felt like family and their service and attention was flawless.

It is by far the most outstanding place we have stayed in throughout Japan. The level of service excellence, the amenities and the attention to detail reaches heights unmatched by any other place we have seen or stayed at.

Warm welcome from our hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Great location within walking distance to snow monkey park and local town. Well appointed and spacious villa. Excellent breakfast and dinner, the latter was in the form of a tasting menu so had the opportunity to explore Japanese cuisine that we wouldn't normally opt for. On our second night we had the place to ourselves so it felt very special.

Hotell Higashidate asub Yamanouchis, 18 km kaugusel Jigokudani ahvipargist ja 28 km kaugusel Ryuoo suusapargist. Kohapeal on vabaõhuvann ja mäevaade. Such an amazing location in ShigaKogan! We had a top floor onsen room that was spacious, comfortable, modern with the luxuries included (massage chair, private onsen, and private dining with a 10+ course dinner every night - some of the BEST Japanese food I have eaten). While the staff had limited English they were beyond accommodating and were happy to for us to use translation apps and appreciative of our poor Japanese language skills. The staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful in arranging our luggage transport and assisting with our departure. Some of the floors of the hotel are a touch dated...but it added to the charm of our stay and overall experience. We will definitely be back :)
