A 5-minute walk from Yudanaka Train Station, Tawaraya offers Japanese-style accommodations with free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV. The main purpose of visiting was taking an outdoor onsen (an amazing experience that now I want to do more often). The owners are welcoming and kind, they do their job with love and effort! It was also my first time trying traditional Japanese dinner - I'm glad I decided to order it (the breakfast was great too). They also sell nice souvenirs. There is Snow Monkey park not far from the town, I highly recommend to visit! As well as two local cafes I also visited: CASE山ノ内 and Tea Salon Miyako.

At Daymaruya Ryokan, guests can enjoy hot-spring baths and traditional Japanese-style accommodations with free wired internet access. We stayed at Daymaruya Ryokan for one night and had a wonderful time! The owner of the Ryokan picked us up from the railway station, drove us to the snowmonkey park and was extremly nice! We were able to communicate with both owners in English, got keys for the onsen in the town and even our own Yukata to wear at the onsen! We reallly enjoyed to experience a tradtional Japan and spending time in your beautiful Ryokan. Thank you so much!

Aburaya Tousen offers luxurious contemporary Japanese-style accommodation with an amazing 11 types of hot-spring baths and free WiFi. The service was impeccable, with some English spoken, but they appreciated our efforts in Japanese. We arranged collection from the station prior which made it easier with luggage when there was snow and ice on the ground. Our room was spacious, with separate shower and toilet, lots of accessories. The highlights were the excellent Kaiseki dinners and the hot tub on our balcony. After a few weeks rushing around, it was nice to relax a bit. Wifi was good. 3 of my family don't eat any seafood, which is a bit tricky, but the kitchen planned 2 really excellent menus showcasing local ingredients. We also had a visit from the very charming hostess. I would highly recommend staying at the Aburaya Tousen as a base for visiting the Snow Monkeys and Obuse for the Hokusai museum. The buffet breakfasts had lots of choice too. Absolutely loved it.

Nastanitev 志賀高原 白い温泉 渓谷の湯 je v mestu Yamanouchi, 14 km od znamenitosti Naravni rezervat Jigokudani Monkey Park, in nudi skupni prostor za druženje, sobe za nekadilce, brezplačen WiFi v celotni... Essentially a ski in ski out hotel. Private and public onsens were wonderful. Food was great and staff were really friendly and helpful.

Beautiful villa with a private onsen, with an amazing view of the mountains. Dinner and breakfast were very good. Location perfect for visiting the snow monkeys. Staff were very friendly. Overall a great stay; wish we could have stayed longer!

Such an amazing location in ShigaKogan! We had a top floor onsen room that was spacious, comfortable, modern with the luxuries included (massage chair, private onsen, and private dining with a 10+ course dinner every night - some of the BEST Japanese food I have eaten). While the staff had limited English they were beyond accommodating and were happy to for us to use translation apps and appreciative of our poor Japanese language skills. The staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful in arranging our luggage transport and assisting with our departure. Some of the floors of the hotel are a touch dated...but it added to the charm of our stay and overall experience. We will definitely be back :)
