We have never experienced this kind of luxury in our lives….. this place and environment totally blew our minds! We had te luxury to stay in the villa, and exceeded all our expectations. The views, the pool, the sauna, the hotspring tub, the fireplace, the BBQ… it was more than enough to really end our holiday totally relaxed! We were supposed to go to Tokyo the last 3 days of our holiday, but we where glad that we canceled that, and went to Shikuoka instead! The falls and wasabi fields and hikes nearby were great excursions, and then come back to the villa was a real dream! Also there were no other guests, so we had the whole place for ourselves…. The host was incredibly welcoming and made the whole experience feel like visiting old friends rather than just a place to sleep. Their local recommendations were spot-on - especially the waterfall, authentic restaurant, and onsen nearby. The bicycle they lent me was perfect for getting around. The outdoor bathing area was a highlight - you can shower and soak while looking up at the stars. There's also a creek you can climb down to (careful though), a hammock for lounging, and a steam sauna (extra charge but worth it). Evenings had ukulele music and good conversations with that comfortable vibe you get when staying with people who genuinely enjoy hosting. Your experience will differ!!

We arrived at Kawazu station and Kenji (?) was there to meet us. When we arrived at the property he took our bags up for us and explained all we needed to know. I think we had an upgrade because the room seemed bigger than the one I booked. The room hadn’t been made up yet as we arrived well before check in. We decided to go and do the 7 waterfalls walk and our host was so kind to drive us there. He explained how to get back on the bus and how much it would be. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. We ended the afternoon by using the hot tub which was great. Bathroom and toilets were spotless. Outside the rooms there is boiling water, coffee making facilities, microwave and a wee stove and sink. There is also a sink for washing your face and cleaning your teeth. Be aware there is nowhere to eat close to the hotel. We were aware of this and brought food in with us. We found a tiny basic bakery just down the road and we bought a couple of flapjack type things for breakfast. This property is such good value and our host was kind and friendly. We have been in Japan for a month and this is one of our best stays. Loved it and would certainly recommend. Excellent value.

Amazing experience. the food is delicious and the ocean view is magnificent. The staffs are all really friendly and polite. We got up early and watched sunrise from our room:)

Beach Side Inn Shirahama se nachází jen 2 minuty chůze od pláže Shirahama v Shimoda a nabízí útulné přátelské ubytování s dřevěnými podlahami a nábytkem. K dispozici je jednoduchá snídaně zdarma. Breakfast was very lovely - super easy, but still yummy. Also great that it’s set up so you can take it away or eat there depending on what your day holds. The private onsens were also wonderful
