Offering a barbecue and sun terrace, Sigiriya Water Cottage is set in Sigiriya, 3.4 km from Sigiriya Rock. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Lovely family run spot. The ‘cottage’ was spacious and comfortable. Pool was clean. The entire property was beautiful. Tons of wildlife on the property! The dinner cooked by the ladies in the family was delicious and totally worth having dinner there! Family was very helpful getting us tuktuks to different places and we booked the safari to huluru through them as well. No complaints!! Wonderful spot.

We had the absolute privilege to be the first guests to check-in at Sigiriya Cashew Palace Resort after it reopened. It is the sort of hotel that is 6 stars for the soul. The family that run it are lovely and incredibly attentive. And the rooms are massive: we had a two bedroom family apartment, which had two bathrooms and a huge kitchen/living room/diner. Breakfast was terrific each day, and the one time we had dinner in the hotel was also excellent. The swimming pool onsite as well as ad hoc experiences like roasting cashews - hence the name! - are just added bonuses. It's also incredibly well positioned for the delights of Sigiriya and the rest of the cultural triangle. Just stay here, you won't regret it. And you may regret it if you don't.

Located in Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle, Jetwing Vil Uyana, A Luxury Reserve features modern accommodation set amidst a spectacular man-made wetland. A stunning location and a resort with a unique feel to it. We loved that the rooms are all tucked away among rice paddies, lily ponds, or open out onto the water body that teems with bird life, fish, and some crocs. We appreciated the nature-conscious philosophy of the hotel and their efforts to respect the wildlife of the area. The evening dining is very good, the rooms beautiful, spacious, and tasteful and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The heat is quite something so we really recommend the rooms with small plunge pools.

We also did a fantastic elephant safari and had an amazing Ayurvedic massage nearby that Madura recommended. The Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious and fresh every morning. We will definitely be back to this hidden gem!
