Wild River Side was the perfect place to stay for my trip to Udawalawe. Such a tranquil location with Sameera and his family being the perfect hosts. When I arrived he showed me around his garden and pointed out all the spices and plants he grows. The accommodation is clean and comfortable, I had the most restful night’s sleep and it’s truly a unique experience staying in the middle of the jungle amongst the wildlife. Sameera also organised a great safari for me with Milan. If this is part of your itinerary make sure to book through them! Afterwards the delicious home cooked breakfast introduced me to authentic Sri Lankan dishes including hoppers and their sweet pancake rolls. After checking out Sameera dropped me off at the bus stop and even waited with me to make sure I got on safely. This caring and considerate gesture reflects the hospitality at Wild River Side and I can’t recommend staying there enough.

Wi-Fi je zde dostupné zdarma.... The couple that owned this hotel were so lovely. The room was big and clean and they brought us delicious welcome drinks.

Very easy going and friendly. Very passionate about all the animals and nature :) The accommodation was very cool, close to town so great for a little exploration. The food was very good and the rooms were very clean with all the amenities. The wifi was very good. Highly recommended.

The lodge is excellent, the best quiet environment I had in Sri Lanka, the jacuzzi tub is perfect for a dip after a long safari. The owner and staff are very friendly. The lodge also organized my private safari and my guide, driver Janaka, was excellent. I actually liked my Udawalawe safari better than the one I did in Yala.

Absolutely amazing, truly one of a kind place. It’s more than a stay, it’s an experience. The location is simply breathtaking, tucked deep in the rainforest, high up on a hill, and only accessible via an an off-road drive in a 4x4 vehicle provided by the villa. We took a guided tour to the Sinharaja rainforest from the property, but just staying in the villa felt just as special. The food was exceptional, prepared on-site by local staff using fresh, organic local ingredients. Without a doubt, these were the best meals we had during our three weeks in Sri Lanka. Everything was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented in the most stunning setting. I highly recommend not only breakfasts, but also lunches and dinners in the villa, they were amazing. Our 6 and 9 years old enjoyed it as much as my wife and I did. The swimming pool is another highlight. Clear, well maintained, and offering a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. It was the perfect way to unwind and cool off after a rainforest hike. We arrived not knowing exactly what to expect, but the villa far exceeded our expectations. If we had more time before our flight back home, we would definitely extend our stay. An unforgettable experience.

Good location close to Udawalawe National Park and the staff was extremely welcoming :) Big thanks to Roshan for going above and beyond throughout our stay. They offered reasonable prices for accommodation and also organised a safari tour which turned out to be amazing 🙂

The Glenrock se nachází v Belihul Oya. Hotel má přírodní bazén v řece a hosté si mohou vychutnat jídlo v hotelové restauraci Peella Side. Na místě je neplacené soukromé parkoviště. Such a wonderful place. It gives you a really authentic Sri Lankan experience - although you are staying in a nice room, you feel like you're in nature and at the same time, you're staying with family in a small village, taking part in their every day life. The village walking tour is highly recommended! We learned so much about the country just from that one activity alone. The staff are all wonderful, and you won't want to leave!
