It’s definitely the best stay for our three-week round trip . I can only recommend it. We booked a Standard double room , Which was their basic category. But it was fantastic! The room was super clean , which is not always in Sri Lanka. They had everything more than we expected like air conditioning, hot water , mosquito nets , a fan , tea coffee, and even pool towels were provided in the room. Also best value for the money. Unbeatable! The Wi-Fi was great in the room and restaurant. Pool area also had a another Wi-Fi which was good. The pool was our favorite super Large,clean like the rest of the property surrounded with nature great to relax and in the pool even have kind of jacuzzi that you can get a massage in the water :) We also booked a Half day 7 Hour safari tour through them and it was fantastic . Price was also very good compared to other offers we had . We saw many elephants, birds and many other animals . Had a great time with the breakfast inside the park .The driver explained everything to us and was very experienced. He didn’t bother animals or go with too many jeeps . If you’re going on a safari definitely go with the hotel. The owner was very friendly, professional and had lots of experience in the industry. The rest of the staff also very helpful and available always with a smile . Thanks a lot for the wonderful stay ! We‘ll definitely come back . Highly recommend this place!

He took care of my family as if we were his family. He arranged a great safari and coordinated taxis and logisics. The food we ate there was the best we had in Sri Lanka.

Great hospitality, and prime location to Udawale national park, and just down the road (3 min drive) from the Elephant Transit Home. The room was just like the pictures, and the surrounding forest and river are magical. We even encountered some monkeys on the property which was a nice surprise. Breakfast was filling and delicious, a combination of traditional Sri Lankan sweets and breakfast foods with fruit. The owner and workers are incredibly courteous, offered some good safari deals, and even showed us some of the cinnamon, curry leaves, and pepper plant which are all on their property. Would 100% recommend to anyone staying in the area! Extremely reasonable price.

Wi-Fi je zde dostupné zdarma.... We had an outstanding stay with Prashansa and her husband in September 2025 at the GVSR. The room (Eagle Family Suite) was very clean and a good size for three adults, with a balcony and ample seating to take in the forest. The serenity and greenery on the property is fantastic (if peace is what you’re looking for). It was great to also laze about in the hammocks in the large garden area they have. And there’s a bathtub in the suite we booked. The food was absolutely delicious and filling (huge portions) for breakfast and dinner (if you decide to eat at the property). The hospitality is wonderful, their motto about guests relaxing and them making things simple really shines through everything they do. They also organised an incredible safari at Udawalawa National Park for us. Amille is a very experienced and knowledgeable safari guide who took us to great spots to find elephants in a relatively dry season when most elephants are hiding. We got really close to some incredible wild elephants thanks to his great driving without disturbing their plans/activities. GVSR is just a few moments from a really amazing Elephant Transit Home as well, which you should try to visit. Don’t hesitate for a second to choose GVSR for your visit to Udawalawa.

He arranged everything for us. The safari trip with Janaka, the amazing tour guide, was incredible, the dinner at the cottage was very good, very comfortable and cool. Amazing structure. Don't miss the opportunity to visit him and his wife.

The rooms are beautiful and the staff is very friendly. We did the safari at the hotel and it was amazing. Our driver was very good and we saw a lot of elephants up close. Breakfast and dinner were both good. Near a beautiful river, designed with the environment in mind. Highly recommended for a few days stay.

We spent two nights at JML Villa Foresta with the family and honestly, it was the best stay we’ve ever had. From the moment I booked, the owner was in touch and super helpful. Even though he lives abroad, he made sure everything was taken care of and that we were happy. You don’t often see that level of communication and care. Getting to the villa is an adventure in itself. It sits right on top of a mountain, and the hotel provides both the off-road vehicle and the skilled driver you’ll need to get there. Once you’re at the top, the views are absolutely jaw-dropping and the weather shifts constantly, so the scenery feels alive and always changing. The villa is just beautiful. A mix of stone and wood that feels both rustic and luxurious. Everything was clean, cozy, and comfortable. Outside there’s a pool with an incredible view, and inside you’ve got a pool table, big flat-screen TV, and a sound system you can crank up without worrying about disturbing anyone, since the villa sits on its own massive 25+ acre estate. Total privacy. RSpecial thanks to Ravi, the host, who looked after us with such professionalism and warmth. He made sure we were comfortable at every moment. And the food? Honestly next level. The owner had told me they serve more than what you pay for, but I didn’t realize just how true that was until we sat down. Every meal was generous, beautifully presented, and delicious. The dishes just kept coming until we couldn’t eat another bite. If you’re after breathtaking views, complete privacy, amazing food, and a team that genuinely cares about your experience, this is the place. We loved every minute and would come back in a heartbeat.

We were met with tea and bananas - it's so important after a long way. This place in Udalawawe has fair price because when we were trying to book a room in other places for the prices we saw on the site, later it came obvious that the prices are actual only if you also book safari in this or that exact place. In Olivi palace you see the real price, if you don't need safari, it's okay. It was perfectly clean. The design of the room is sweat and nice. The place is very close to Elephant transit home.

The Glenrock exceeded by far our expectations. The customer service, attention to detail, and quality for the products and services provided were beyond excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly, and always found a way to surprise us for the best! Thusith took very good care of us, helping with recommendations and organising our tours. Pradeep provided exceptional service as yoga instructor, and massage therapist, the best we have experienced in years. The food was prepared from scratch for us, fresh quality product prepared with love and care. Options to cater any taste. We will be coming back for sure!
