Ask the locals if you want to see it blow - it wasn't happening when we arrived and I thought it was due to tides but apparently not - wind direction and swell are the keys. Stay at Kiama Harbour Cabins - magic!
The Blowhole's spectacle is dependent on prevailing wind and sea conditions so sometimes it's spectacular and sometimes it's a fizzer! There's a good coffee shop nearby which is a bonus! and also a lovely rock pool for swimming.
We stayed at the Kiama Harbour Cabins for 7 nights, it was so beautiful, beaches are only minutes away. We also seen dolphins when standing on our patio at the Kiama cabins. Staff were exceptional, very peaceful too.
Nothing much to see really. The whales passing by and the dolphins in the bay were well worth looking at along with the friendly local that gave myself and my 72 yr old mother a ride from the little blowhole back to town s it was a big walk for me in the heat let alone her.
