Take you time when visiting Mono - only see a little bit if your limited in time cause your brain needs to process it. Visit the library and peruse the books - absolutely marvellous. David Walsh should be knighted.
Fascinating museum - stunning eye opener, fun and thought provoking all at the same time. Our children aged 14 & 12 liked it but wished they had not gone until they were much older - it is hard to avoid them seeing things that they wish they could unsee!
Best way to go over is on the ferry as it also includes your museum entrance and locals can get in for free as long as you have proof. Always get a ticket to return later than you think you will need as you can easily waste so much time without knowing it...I've been four times!!
Absolutely loved it! So much to see and experience. Really enjoyed the exhibition by a belgian artist (Cloaca aka poop machine). Exhibitions change so look the website up to see what tickles your fancy.
Always challenging, provocative & fascinating. Not for the easily shocked. If you have a sensitive stomach, wait a while after taking the fast ferry to view exhibits as they can feel overwhelming! For those who find steps difficult, you can wait for the second ferry stop & take a golf cart up. The golf cart trip back is steep, so hold on tight!
