I wanted to see my great Uncles name roll over through in one of the features in the Centre but it takes 10 days!! to view them all. Sad that there are so many but I was looking for 'A' and we were there for 'C' so I couldn't wait!! You can check where they are up to before you arrive if you have time.
Truly an awe inspiring tribute to defence forces from around the world. One can't help but be humbled by the ANZAC Centre itself, and also the surrounding area which has been restored for visitors. It is amazing that today we see the same view that the men and women who left Albany through King George Sound saw over 100 years ago.
Make sure you give yourself a good few hours to explores it and all the surrounds. Until March 25th a must see is the Field of Lights. Dont miss going up the convoy walk to the lookout. We went back 3 times to wander around the surrouning walks with many interesting finds .
The National Anzac Centre is an amazing venue. It focuses on the two massive ship convoys that left Albany taking soldiers and horses to fight in WW1. It is very thoughtfully and creatively designed but it packs a punch! Be prepared to take a break and have a walk around the precinct or have a coffee and then head back in again to complete your tour. Staff and volunteers are very professional and are there to help you get the most out of your visit. The walks and other buildings are very interesting as well so allow plenty of time to go visit- we took about three hours.
Great place. Very interesting and all the old guns are a great feature to get a feel for what it's like in battle. Only downfall is the price to enter the interpretation centre. For a family of 1 adult and 2 children coming in at close to $50 it was a bit steep.
