Give yourself plenty of time to take in the amazing scenery as well as taking masses of photos. Its easy to get caught up in trying to capture the scenery with your camera, but just looking at it is something you must not miss
Really awersome natural wonder - 12 apostoles. It is unique national park, very wild pure nature. Of cource Grand Canyon in US is more impressive, but being in Australia it is obligatory to visit this park and to feel the ocean, nature and think about how it was made.
Spend some time at Lochard Gorge as well as the 7 Apostles - see the Thunder Cave, walk on the beach at the Sherbrooke River, watch the little fish and mini-shrimp in the river, explore the Gorge caves and see the stalactites, get some fresh, southern ocean air in your lungs, climb up and down the stairs at the Gorge or Gibson's Steps- you will be amazed how good you feel after all that.
When visiting the Apostles ensure you get there before the thousands arrive on coach tours - we had 2 completely different experiences one with the multitude pushing and shoving at 2pm and one before 10 in relative peace - spectacular either way !!
Wear comfortable shoes and warm clothes. It's a bit of a drive from Melbourne so make sure you fill up your car coz you have to drive for an extra 15-20 minutes to get to the petrol station. Decent coffee at the store they had there.
If you are doing a trip on great ocean road, unless you are going all the way to Adelaide, dont stay overnight anywhere past Apollo Bay. Port Campbell is a small village with 2 pubs that serve below average food, except the proximity to twelve apostles, there is no other reason to stay there...
