Walking on the Old Bridge, especially in the evening is a treat. There are usually street musicians to entertain you and the view of the castle from that vantage point is priceless when it's all lit up and aglow.
Great medieval structure and history worth investigating. When visiting Heidelberg one must keep in mind it was a center of education and culture and one must start from there to fully appreciate what it has become as a city. There is much I could comment on but, now is not the format.
The bridge is a honey pot for tourists who all seem to want to stick their heads in to the surreal bronze cat/ monkey on the side of the bridge. What a lot of people miss is the little bronze mouse situated beside the cat !!
