Set in Copenhagen's historic Indre By district, this hotel offers free Wi-Fi, bicycle rentals and in-room flat-screen TVs. Kongens Have Gardens is right next door and is home to Rosenborg Castle. Lovely atmosphere! We also loved the location; close to everything!
Located where Copenhagen’s historical City Center meets green, residential Østerbro, Hotel Østerport offers modern accommodation with 24-hour front desk service, free Wi-Fi, a bar and bike rental. Hotel room was comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Everybody has heard about this sculpture, actually it does represent Copenhagen. Personally I saw it from the sightseeing boat and was surprised at how small it actually is. I didnt go nearer as the crowd of tourists taking pictures next to it was not a welcome sight. I found Copenhagen is thankfully, much more than the Little Mermaid, so if it is crowded....skip and go explore the city instead!
The walk to see the Little Mermaid is lovely, through a nice park and past a beautiful fountain. The little mermaid herself is an attractive statue, but that'a all. We saw it in September, and despite signs to say you may not stand on the statue, many people were doing it. I can only imagine how crowded it must be in summer!
Everyone told me how tiny this sculpture was and not to bother. They were wrong. We walked from the city center and loved the multitude of sites to see along the way. The parks and walkways are gorgeous and the view from the harbor is lovely. It's not giant, but much bigger than I expected and you can get nice and close. It was an exciting adventure to go find her.
I did a run around the harbour and managed to take a few photos early in the morning (@07:30) before everyone started crowding it (apparantly, later in the day one can barely see it without tourists overcrowding the poor girl)
It is a beautiful statue. It seems quite dirty though. It is not placed in an easy location & you need to climb down some rocks to take a closer picture. Otherwise you have to stay on the road level & there is a metal bar that ruins the panoramic with the statue.
The staff was very nice and ready to help! The location of the Phoenix Hotel couldn't be any more perfect, very close to the main attractions of the city including Nyhavn, the Palace, the Little Mermaid and the center itself, with easy access anywhere including the airport. The hotel had a major contribution for this trip and I'd recommend to anyone that wants to go to the city.
The location is walking distance to a lot of points of interest, like Nyhaven, the city center, even walked to the Little Mermaid statue. Breakfast was also delicious! Something my partner had never experienced was the shower being the whole bathroom, but the shower squeegee provided made it easy!
