I went here in 2008, it was really magical, the whole atmosphere was a vibe. Come 2023, I pushed my husband to go there because he loves checking out everything Egyptian. The place was so smelly, so dirty, some shops were closed and the old buildings were being renovated, so many scaffoldings. I could do with touts, it's normal and actually they were all very nice, not even pushy to sell which I appreciated. I wanted to take a video or photos but it was just too depressing and then I pushed my husband to leave that awful place.
