We (2 adults and 2 boys, 12+16) were here in the Summer. We went here for the beaches towards the end of a multi-city sightseeing trip to give the kids a break and relax for 4 days. There are indeed many great beaches in the area and the public ones directly adjacent to the city are good as well. This is a very touristy city, so not our cup of tea actually. There are tons of shops to buy knick-knacks and a plethora of restaurants and ice cream shops. Culturally, there is not much to see or do.

It's just a gazebo for the unseen. The beach next to the "Balcón de Europa" has an open sewer directly to the sea. The rocks have spiked trash. It's a shame. Playa de la Calahonda, Nerja, España.

The Balcon de Europa, to give it it's proper name is a broad promanade/plaza by the sea in the centre of Nerja, and is surrounded by radiating streets of shops and restaurants, ice cream parlours etc. It is a smant central hub with a large pedestrian area around it. No visit to Nerja is complete without a visit to the Balcon.

I stayed on the Balcony of Europe and it is fantastic. A palm tree lined promenade with a beautiful balcony looking out over the Mediterranean with a stretch of beaches on either side. Could not think of anything I have ever seen that is more beautiful.

Beautiful hotel that exceeded our expectations for a 3-star hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, we were given a map on which they showed us the main points of interest. They provide you with towels for the beach and the pool if needed. The breakfast could have included warm options like scrambled eggs or bacon but otherwise it was good. The fruit bowls were amazing. The room was spotlessly clean and seemed newly furnished. Excellent location, right by the Balcony of Europe.

View from the balcony (mountains on your left and sea on your right) and possibility to spend time comfortably on the balcony (table and chairs there); Kitchen with kitchenware and equipment; Staff - Elisabeth was very welcoming; Location - 200 m away from the bus station and 10-15 mins away from the balcony of Europe on foot. Would be staying again once in Nerja.

If there is a next time that I would go to Nerja I would select a different accommodation that is near the city center (which is also near the beaches..) To be fair: - Nice friendly staff - Free parking - Breakfast was decent - Nice city and lots to see - Nice beaches

The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we have had in 3 weeks. The staff were lovely and helpful. The general location was so much quieter and nicer than the previous night at another hotel near the Balcony of Europe.The beach 5 mins walk directly down from this hotel went to a lovely clean clear water beach- the beaches beside Balcony of Europe 10-15 mins away not clear water!

Hotel staff was very nice. The pool is a great option to the beach. Conveniently located close to the beaches and the Balcony of Europe. It sits at the top of a cliff with a great views and breeze but requires climbing steps to and from the beach.
