The highlight in August was the classical flamenco concert based on Federico Garcia Lorca’s songs and poems at night in the Alhambra Gardens. Tickets from La Cortijo Ingles department store - ask at your hotel. Not a tourist attraction, local people picnicking, a truly magical experience.
We were very disappointed to be told we need to prebook tickets to Alhambra. We tried to get tickets from office but we're told it was not possible. This should be made clear before walking to top of hill!!
Our tour operator GrupoXplorer.com cancelled our prebooked Complex tour including Nasrin Palace 24 hours before our tour and we were unable to secure another similar tour during our stay in Granada. We managed to secure a Generalife admissions tickets to the Gardens and the castle on a rainy day.
We booked with a company for our elderly friends who are 78 and 84. We did not find our guide and our guide did not find us so we didn’t get in after speaking to the company we visited a museum part and tried to buy new tickets but they had sold final tickets. Very disappointing. A lot of money to travel and stay in for one night and not get to see the Alha
A lovely place I’m sure but no chance to get in without pre-booking. It would have been possible to get in the gardens but for that you need a pasport. There was no notice about that on their web page. So, prebook and take your pasport with you. A nice shop for souvenirs - no passport needed there. 😀
In summer season, it is advisable to book your trip tickets to Alhambra palace & Naseryad palace in advance through internet or phone. There are limited number of tickets available each day and you may be caught by surprise if you reach there unplanned and tickets are sold out.
The Alhambra inside and out is more beautiful in person than any picture can capture. The views from around town with the mountainous background are breathtaking. Enjoying that with wine and a complimentary cocktail is a perfect day in my experience.
The whole city, downtown and vicinity, is a living area with its beautiful Alhambra as a background, its gypsies and flamenco music and dancing, great music and its gorgeous buildings and churches make it a place in which you will feel part of an Arabian story.
The Alhambra is a must see if you are planning a trip to Spain. The crowds are kept to a minimum by carefully timed entrances to the Palace and the grounds which enhances the overall experience. Fantastic!
Taking a tour that includes time to see the Alhambra and AlbayzÃn is key, but also take time to walk slowly in the small streets. Stop for ice cream or beer w/ tapas. Look up at the buildings as you walk to notice all the architectural details.
The Alhambra for starters, along with the history surrounding the battle for Granada between the Moors and the Catholic monarchs. Washington Irving and his tales of the Alhambra ... The list goes on ...
Alhambra is the first and foremost attraction of all Granada although the cathedral is a worthy place to have a look as well.
