The centre of the city, to wander around, get into the bar for a drink and tapas, BUT be careful with your bag! Fantástico para caminar, entrar a los bares y tomar algo con unas tapas, eso si, CUIDADO con la cartera!

Try to get yourself a coffe and pastry. If short of time do it standing in the very bussy ground floor. If you want to relax and have a conversation go upstairs and be served by a waiter. You will be part of a great tradition of the Puerta del Sol. GO to the Km.0 which is a plaque by the door of the council (main gov building) from there all the roads of spain are counted

The older lady who owns / manage the place is very nice & accommodating. I only stayed for one night after a tour. I'm familiar with Barrios de las Letras so I managed to get around. It's walking distance to Prado as well as Puerta del Sol. Location wise you cannot beat the price as long as you're only interested in a safe place to sleep after a day of sight seeing.

It was so easy to explore Madrid and to make connections for day trips to neighboring towns. I found the bed to be quite comfortable, the bathroom was large and modern, and the kitchen was well stocked. Also, even though the building is right on Puerta del Sol, my apartment was in the back and completely quiet. The host was very responsive to a couple of questions I had during my stay and in advance of my trip. I would stay here again!

You will like it. Only thing that they can improve is to put water in the rooms, but as it is apartment style it is understandable. A lot of restaurant choices in the area and an easy 5 minute walk to Puerta del Sol. Air conditioning worked very well. The hosts, Carmen and her husband, were lovely and welcoming, they even left for us a bottle of wine and breakfast foods and drinks.
