A charming hotel in a charming little English town. Only one hour away by direct train to Gatwick Airport, the hotel is the perfect place to spend a night before an international flight. The staff is friendly and the food in the restaurant as well as the breakfast buffet was exceptional. I was introduced to rhubarb and ginger gin as the attached pub, Less than 5 pound for the short taxi ride from the train station. There is so much to see in the town as well as the hotel. A great value; why spend the same amount or more at a generic airport hotel? On my town walkabout I had the chance to visit St. Nicholas Church and have a delightful chat with the vicar's wife. This has to be one of the most pleasant one-night hotel experiences in my life. Almost forgot to mention: sticky toffee pudding for dessert in the Castle Dining Room.

The room was clean and comfortable and a good size for 2 people. Breakfast was just superb. We really liked the sausages. A good choice of breakfast items with plenty to eat and drink to start your day.

    Arundel Castle actually.

Arundel Castle actually. I visited the grounds which were lovely, you need two or three hours. That with the castle are a bit pricey. Arundel itself , lots of eating places, lovely bookshop and antique places. Check before you go, after October half term believe it get dead.

Don't think that given how imposing and impressive the cathedral appears from the view from the town, it does not live up to expectations. it is not medieval. For a Catholic Cathedral it was also comparatively sparse, maybe not a bad thing but not what one expects.

Beautiful location right next to Arundel Cathedral and the castle walls. A 5 minute walk from the centre of the town and very comfortable and clean accommodation. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and worked hard to make the stay as pleasant as possible for guests.
