Comfortable beddings, very clean hotel. The location is great, not too far from the minster and the train station. They can pick up your luggage from the station, very convenient! We also loved the pantry area, so generous!

Loved staying in this historic, centrally located pub/hotel. Only four rooms you can stay in, so I felt lucky to be able to stay here. It's billed as the most haunted hotel in York, so I thought I was going to be kept awake all night by ghosts -- alas, I slept like a log and no paranormal phenomena (that I'm aware of). Bathroom was surprisingly chic! Breakfast was delicious.

Shame you are told as soon as you sit down that you have the table got 1.15 hours.. there was a 10 minute delay before our drink orders were taken & so our party (4 of us) all felt we were going to be rushed.. presentation of the afternoon tea was lovely & the food fresh. I have definitely had better experiences elsewhere.. bucket list ticked.. wouldn’t return though 😔
