British Museum
As Great Britain’s Empire expanded, so did its cache of material treasures – many of which are on display in this world-class museum. Among its eight million exhibits, you'll find the stunning Elgin Marbles from Greece, the Benin Bronzes and the legendary Rosetta Stone. The Reading Room stands at its heart and is spectacular in size and scope.

No other museum can even be in the same category.
No other museum can even be in the same category. Everywhere I looked I was in awe. I even had a chance to hold a hand axe once used by Homo erectus some 400,000 years ago (I think his name was Fred).

Amazing museum, well organised and full of interesting stories. Plus it's free! (except for the temporary shows) I really recommend to stop by, pick up the map at the entry and just get lost in history!

Excellent place with something for everyone, but don't expect to see it all in a couple of hours. The collection is huge. Don't bother with the non- museum touted tours or 'mystery' tours. Not worth the money and you only get a sheet of paper and a pencil - then you're on your own. Better , especially if you have kiddies, to check if the museum run sessions are on, they are much better. The food here is a rip off.

Go for 3 hours at a time max. You will burn out before then. Do a quick Google search for what may be your interests. There is no way you could see the entire museum in a week even.

Sometimes I travel to London only to pay a visit to the British Museum. This is an amazing place, and you should be prepared to visit only parts of it at a time. Take the hall of enlightenment. That hall alone would be a very important museum by itself. So take 1 max 2 hours pick 1-2 rooms and spend your time there, do not try to cover everything. The museum has a free entry, you can come back another time and see some other parts as well.
Sadly, the special exhibitions, are IMHO usually not worth the price they are asking. It is probably unfair to compare it to everything else that is outside, but as a tourist visiting London, there is so much to explore in the museum, that you will not really miss all that much if you do not go to the special exhibitions.
The northern entrance is usually less crowded so you can get through the (frankly ridiculous) security checks faster.

OMG, it's massive and has things I've read about like the Elgin Marbles and Rosetta stone. Must see and then come back and see again. Special exhibits are good too. The restaurant was expensive and had a small range of items to eat.

The room which we finally got with extra payment was fine with a nice view to the British Museum the facilities were all good. Breakfast was fine as well.
I loved the location! Main attractions were very close. Next door to Trafalgar Square, National Gallery and behind British Museum. You could walk or short UBER ride to get to anywhere you wanted to go. Westminster Abby, Tower of London, Buckingham Palace etc. Front desk was very kind and helpful. The restaurant within the Hotel were excellent. We had the most lovely traditional English Christmas dinner.
- Excellent (5/5) breakfast
- Polite and helpful staff
- Wifi worked as expected
- Bed was comfortable
- Window opened!
- Clean and quality stay
- Location to British museum
The staff was helpful, breakfast fantastic. The location is great, lots of bars and restaurants close. Easy/cheap Uber to British Museum and Imperial War Museum.
Really convenient location: a short walk from several bus lines and two train stations (Holborn and Russell Square). It's just around the corner from the British Museum and about a 20 min walk from Covent Garden. The single bed room was the perfect size for solo travel. The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. I didn't have a chance to try the restaurant but that seemed like a nice option especially in warmer months when you could enjoy the patio.
Staff was very helpful and allowed us to check in early at 1PM as we had arrived from overseas. Beautiful hotel in quieter neighborhood - very close to the British Museum and right next to a train station/bus stops for quick access to all of London. Room was very clean, perfect for 2 people.
The location was amazing; close to all the tourist spots, an Underground station, and delicious food. It was right down the street from the British Museum as well. The property was clean and even better than depicted in the photos. The apartment was, for the most part, quiet. The property manager was also responsive to my questions. I would definitely stay here again.
Good location, close to subway, restaurants, British Museum, etc.
Very nice hotel, very good interactions with staff.
