You only visit this place to check off the "Buckingham Palace" mark on the bucket list. It's really not that cool from the outside. The statues in front are the coolest part of it. Overrated and SO many people you guaranteed will not get a good picture.
How is it that a country with so many people suffering with heating and eating bills can still afford to pay for a family to live in nine palaces? The royals only choice these days will be whether to have the grouse or the pheasant for lunch. No worry about heating bills for them. The royal family do bring in an amount in terms of tourism but it is a tiny percentage of what we earn from tourism in general. It's time we made better use of the country's money!
If you're a royal like myself, do it. I loved it. I could've spent more time looking at more but obviously it's still a working palace. It books out early so get in quick if you can. It's certainly not a tour to do on a whim.
Fantastic tour in the summer .Go early to see the changing of the Guard at 11 am .Lovely walk through St James ‘park .Gift shop at side of palace and across the road .Restaurants around it expensive go a few hundred metres away .
It is a nice place to visit the only it was a lot over crown which I found difficult to stop are read what was in the case and have a good look The other thing there is no toilet until the end of the tour so if you have young one or elderly people that might be a problem and I went with elderly Ladies as the step was a problem there was taken on an other route and we was told we could all come just 1 person and a carer which mean we was split up and we didn't see them until was came out for tea and cakes was not what we had plan for Ladies day out we did phone to see where they where they was on a total different part from us
Not as impressed with the Buck House Exhibition as I thought I would be... not really a lover of the monarchy so all the oppulance tended to wrangle with me. However the Indian dining room was absolutely brilliant
Breakfast was good, lots of choice. Beds very comfortable. All staff exceptional, especially Maria on reception very friendly and welcoming, Jolly the porter, the man on the bar and the girl in the breakfast room (think she was Nigerian) who greeted us with a beautiful beaming smile every morning which set you up for the day. Excellent location, close to Buckingham Palace etc.
Staff were very friendly. We had a birthday in the group and they had left balloons, banners, a card and drinks in the room for us which we really appreciated. Room was clean, beds comfortable. Location was very good. Close to underground station and short walk to Victoria station and Buckingham Palace. Would highly recommend staying here if going to London. Thank you to all.
The apartment was modern and stylish. Lots of pubs, shops and cafes nearby. Close to train stations and bus stops. Beautiful riverside view with comfortable bed. The landlord was friendly and easy to get on with. Not too far from Buckingham Palace and Westminster. Ideal for tourists.
We had a 1 bedroom unit so there was a lot to like in terms of space, privacy and convenience. Location was within minutes of Buckingham Palace as well as Picadilly Circus. Customer service staff were above and beyond in terms of helpfulness. We loved every minute there.
only the location where the hotel is...walking distance to the train station, to where the tour buses as well, walking distance to Buckingham Palace, to the Big Ben, London eye. But, the hotel itself....I think needs improvement
Great location for our stay 10 mins walk from Victoria coach station & within walking distance to other main attractions Buckingham palace, london eye etc rooms clean & comfortable although dated. would def stay again
Good location two streets away from Victoria Station, half a mile from Buckingham Palace. The room itself was clean. The staff was nice. Overall it's a good option for solo travellers who only need a place to sleep in.
Excellent location, near Victoria station and 15 minute walk to Buckingham Palace. The hotel was lovely and the staff were very helpful. Alan let us check in early with no extra charge.
Location very central, minutes away from Central Station and Buckingham Palace Room with WiFi, large LCD TV, bathroom ensuite... Excellent staff, very good breakfast, superb concierge
London has an enormous amount of green space. We were located in the Westminster district near Buckingham Palace and there was so much to enjoy just by walking through St. James Park. A stroll to the Thames brings you to the heart of the city. So much to see. An incredible city and the people are great. Don't miss Trafalgar Square.
