The history in this place is amazing, but we did not find any guides or tours here, so we wished we might have read or watched a program to learn more about it before visiting. It has a lot of dark spiral staircases, which were a bit spooky for our 7 year old and would very much reduce what you could see if you have difficulty with stairs or heights. It was dry when we were there, but rain might make it more difficult too. That said, the views were great. You can see a long way over the water from the castle. There are some displays inside about the various moncharchs that have lived there and about the investiture of the Prince of Wales. You can stand on the same balcony that Prince Charles was on after he became Prince of Wales.
The people were most helpful , the town needs a little as are often are in the UK , as Often do,my preference is in France as I go there , but was taken back with The town and I and my wife will come again and stay with your Hotel .
Beautiful especially in the evening. Didn't visit inside the castle but certainly will be back to do so in near future ok only planned a short stay. Avoid visiting to late in the the day time . Traffic in and out is very congested. Best early morning and evening if traveling through. Better than expected and a truely beautiful place.
We didn't visit the castle this time, have been before. Visited the lake railway and slate museum, Bedgelert, Anglesey especially Beaumaris with a boat trip round Puffin Island saw many birds and seals, Also went to Portmerion which is absolutely fantastic.
If it is raining, paths can be slippery so wear good soled shoes or boots. Steps obviously but there are disabled access areas. Staff are very informative, helpful and accommodating. Gift shop. On Remembrance weekend there was a marquee offering snacks and drinks with seating. Watched the parade into the square, very poignant.
The location was the best we could ask for: in Castle Square, few meters from the Caernarfon castle, the old city centre and the sea. The staff has been kind and helpful all the time. The small room spaces were nicely organized and decorated giving a homely feeling that we appreciated. We were generally satisfied with the cleanliness of both the room and the ensuite bathroom, even though the room felt a bit dusty. The stay in this hotel was anyway really worthy the (not too high) price.
During covid 19, the hotel staff were courteous, friendly and warm. We enjoyed breakfast, we had to have it twice in the room because we had left it too late to book a time slot in the restaurant. The hotel location is great, we stayed for climbing Mount Snowdon, Zip World and Coed y Brenin forest park. The hotel is walking distance from Caernarfon castle. The town has local shops, an Asda and Home Bargains are opposite the hotel. Morrisons with petrol is 2 minutes away.
The staff were very welcoming. Breakfast was excellent. Room was very clean and tidy with fresh water available in the fridge along with tea and coffee making facilities and biscuits. Guest house had attractive living room on the ground floor available for guests to use. Very handy location, close to the harbour (where free parking is available), which has a nice view overlooking the Menai Straits and close to Caernarfon Castle and town centre facilities.
Great hosts, very friendly and pleasant. Breakfast, tea and coffee facilities provided and a small fridge and microwave which is handy to have in the room. Great location within the walls of Caernarfon Castle. Parking hit and miss as on a residential one way street, so cannot guarantee spaces and alternative parking approx 250 mtr away.
Great 200 years old cottage with all modern equipment you need. Very modern well equipped kitchen. Great coal and log stove in the fire place for warm atmosphere. Super friendly host Great location: not far from the seashore and close to Caernarfon castle
Excellent in every aspect! Nice, clean, well-equipped hostel. In old medieval walled town with Caernarfon Castle a few mins away on foot. The waterfront a few steps away. Also near to pubs, shops, restaurants. What else can you ask for? Highly recommended!
Great location - the decking outside the cabin had a great view of the Snowdonian hills, and it's a five minute walk down the hill and across the river to the town centre, with stunning views of Caernarfon Castle on the way,
The location was good as it was close to shops and restaurants and tourist attractions such as Caernarfon castle. It was also good value for money.
