So very surprised - in a great way.

So very surprised - in a great way. The harbour Arm is a great feature, traveling on my own, I was able to sit and watch the open air cinema, and have a supper - great choice of outlets, and a drink. The whole area around the old harbour is just a joy, with a great atmosphere. Came to stay for just the night to catch the shuttle early next morning, but will come back - to spend time in folkestone!

    Still has working fishing boats.

Still has working fishing boats. Cobbled pavements, boats, nets, a pub, icecream. Keep very small children close - there is a big drop from the edge of the harbour to the water or mud, and only a simple post and chain fence. The old ferry terminus has been nicely redeveloped now and there is also a fishermen's museum in the harbour.

Keep small children on a lead.

Keep small children on a lead. There is quite a drop to the water from the harbour walk and it is not very well fenced, just a chain strung between poles. Wear sensible shoes. The harbour has cobblestone roads.

Harbour very interesting and well worth a visit.

Harbour very interesting and well worth a visit. One must walk along the Leas for the views of the Channel, the Grand, the Metropole. Be warned, the people are not as friendly as perhaps one should be for a Tourist Resort such as Folkestone!! If, you are staying here, then I suggest you may wish to book into one of the hotels on the Leas itself. Pay the extra, for one of the better hotels, otherwise, you will probably regret you did not!!! Honestly!!! Unless your visit is for the day, then please follow my advise on this matter. Folkestone is well worth a visit, if, one has never been before. Do not forget Sandgate and Hythe if you can make it?

Excellent location, overlooking Folkestone Harbour. Great views of the Railway viaduct, and the renovated railway station. Only had one meal, that was really good fish & chips. Beer was also good. Very friendly staff. All the rooms are in the process of being decorated, so the decorater told me !

I booked a single basic room but hotel upgraded me to a premier room overlooking the harbour. Amazing view of sunrise over the white cliffs of Dover. The cabaret in the bar area was excellent very good George Micheal tribute singer and comedian! Would recommend asking for room with a view of Folkestone harbour.

The apartment is very high quality located close to the sea front. It is very comfortable and warm and peaceful. It is a short walk to the Cliff path which is a nature walk into Folkestone Harbour. It’s a lovely walk along and recommended. There is car parking at the property which is great. It is a very cosy place and we were sad to leave.
