Excellent guided walk , guide was very informed and gave very funny rendition of old food tails and the history of the Causeway . Coffee shop was able to provide cakes and scones . I did manage to climb back up the hill from the Causeway, but it is a bit of a hike in parts .
You do not need to pay to see the Giant's Causeway. Park at the train station near by (£8 all day) and walk down through the tunnel to the Causeway. If you want to go in to the visitors centre or have a mobile audio guide then you will have to pay the National Trust £12.50 per person.
We visited the Giant's Causeway at 9pm one evening when it was quiet with no tour buses etc and enjoyed an hour at the causeway with only a couple of other visitors and went again one morning at 8am again to avoid crowds - it was an absolutely stunning place - a must see for anyone visiting the area.
Access to the Giants Causeway is actually free - it is only the NT parking and visitor centre that you have to pay for, at £11.50 a head it is extortionate. Park at the railway station car park for £8 all day (per car) and take a very short walk to the Giant's Causeway. There is also a hoppa bus for £1 back up the hill from the causeway when you have finished your visit.
being there in the late afternoon was perfect für taking photos and not too crowded, though there were certainly enough people there. But every now and then, with some patience, you are able to shoot a good picture
If budget is tight then know u don’t have to pay entrance fee if u don’t park in car park. Obviously if u can pay and would like to then it’s a good a thing as this money is put into conservation and maintaining Giant’s causeway for the next generation.
After a long walk from Giants Causeway, we arrived at our accommodation. We were warmly greeted by the owners who showed us the house and all the facilities. The kindness and hospitality was exceptional. Everything from towels, toiletries to breakfast was included. Our room was very comfortable and warm. If we ever visit Portrush again, I will definitely be booking here. Highly recommended.
Full Irish breakfast was nice to experience. (We would have enjoyed having a bit more choice for a healthy breakfast - more fruit and brown bread for second day.) Location was an easy walk into Portrush and a straightforward drive to the Giants Causeway.
Location superb, lady host was very nice and accommodating and informative, when I suggested I was going to giants causeway and might be 15mins late back for checkout , it was not a problem, very nice, even tough we did make it back in time
Extremely comfortable and convenient, spotlessly clean, great shower, useful mini-fridge, best of all - really lovely people. Great location for visiting the Giants Causeway and other beautiful sites around nothern Ireland.
The hotel was in a good location, a short drive from the main hubs of Portrush and Portstewart, as well as other key attractions such as the Giants Causeway, Dunluce Castle and Bushmills Distillery.
The staff all seemed very friendly. We had a hire car, which is recommended, to get to Giants Causeway and Londonderry etc.
Scenic coastal views from Portrush to the Giants Causeway. Good menu, not too fancy
