The weather was against us when we visited the castle and...
The weather was against us when we visited the castle and although the room was lovely, the bed was not the most comfortable, which did mar our visit slightly. The castle and grounds are lovely and the restaurant for breakfast and the evening meal was also very good. The only downside to our visit, apart from the weather and the bed!, was that we arrived fairly early and was not allowed access into the castle as it opened later, the restaurant was also closed so we could not have something to eat there while we waited and we were unable to book into the room early, which was a shame considering the weather (not the castles fault obviously!). But overall, this is a nice place to visit and it is magical to stay on the grounds.AAnonymousUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10
Beautiful destination for a day trip!
Beautiful destination for a day trip! Lots of beautiful gardens, birds walking around you. When you buy a ticket, you can use it for the whole year, which is a bonus. I've been there once and planning to come back.

At least that’s a beautiful, beautiful venue especially on a lovely day which we chose. Nice restaurant overlooking the castle with attentive staff. Absolutely beautiful visitors. We can’t recommend this place highly enough for a day out .

Our room was in the smaller side for two people or I’d rate the facilities a “ten.” Very clean, very nice breakfast and delightful delightful staff!! Sadly, our flight for London left too early for us to walk through the castle. I’d definitely recommend and stay at this lovely place again.
