Location is great. If you want a good coffee check out North Star Coffee shop. To realistically comprehensively see it all plan for 2+ days. The sword fight demonstration is informative and entertaining.
Lots to see and there is always something happening in the Royal Armouries Museum especially at the weekend. We saw quite a few presentation, theater and historic plays so would definitely recommend having a look at their website or arrive early on to check the on the day events :)
Give your self as much time as possible to enjoy all that is on offer. Dragging my partner there turned into dragging her out after 3 1/2 hours of fun and education. Put it top of you must do in Leeds.
Allow a full day to take in the wonders of the Armouries. Worth planning your visit as there is so much to take in. Also there are demonstrations and talks throughout the day which are fun. Don't miss the amazing Hall of Steel staircase by taking the lift!! There are too many highlights to mention, but Henry VIII's armour for the Field of Cloth of Gold Tournament is amazing to see, as is the central display in the Oriental gallery, and the amazing elephant armour. Enjoy!!!
You can easily walk your feet off, there's so much in there. Probably a good idea to get a picture of the main things you want to see from their website, and plan. But one visit probably won't be enough anyway.
Well laid out, great for interesting and informative exhibits. A modern museum that makes the past come alive. For example, the sight of a medieval knight on his destrier both in full armois awe inspiring
perfect for a one night stopover in leeds - and great location for royal armouries museum - right opposite easy car parking, not expensive
