What an amazing ride for seeing the whole of London and further a. Field. A great experience, it is a slow ride round in enclosed seating allowing one to take in the vast views and sights of all London and beyond. Well worth trip.
This is great we found less crowds in the early evening (which makes for good photos as well). Also it is worth noting it doesn't actually stop for getting on and off, (it doesn't go fast), but handy to know if you are old or have little kids.
Pay extra to avoid the queue. We had bought tix, but didn’t pay to avoid the queue, thinking it wasn’t necessary bc of timed tix. However, just-let-out school kids overwhelmed the line & made it impossibly long so we couldn’t get in before closing.
When you want a good view over London this is the place to go. You can't see the whole city, but a large part of it. Even when you are afraid of heights this is an attraction for you. And there is airconditioning in it, which was nice on the very hot day we visited it.
Pay the bit extra to upgrade your ticket to the VIP pass (I think it cost us an extra £20 on our family of four ticket) & download the QR code to your smartphone we visited on a sunny Saturday afternoon & instead of having to queue to collect tickets then join the massive queue for the eye which was approximately 45 mins when we were there we walked up joined a separate queue had our code scanned & were on the attraction within 15 minutes it was most definitely worth the bit extra we paid.
We went on a boat cruise of the Thames on NYE and we watched the fireworks on the Eye. The cruise was OK not great and very cramped with terrible food. However the vibe was good and its the best spot for the countdown
Location was great, just a short walk from the Waterloo underground. We arrived around midday, they checked us in right away and we left our bags at the front desk. Our booking said 'lower ground floor'. But we were given a room on the first floor, which was nice because i feared wed have one of those rooms with no windows like i read in the other reviews. Instead we had a nice view of the London Eye. Rainshower is really nice, tho a bit too big for the small showerspace. Room has everything u would need.
Perfect position, just in front to Lambert North underground station. Easily reachable from Heathrow airport with Elisabeth line trains + underground in less than 1 hour trip. 10 minutes walk to Houses of Parliament / Westminster Abbey and the London Eye. Very nice hotel, rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. On high floors view is beautiful. The staff is nice and very helpful. I will definitely come back to this hotel on my next trips to London!
This was a unique lodging close to public transportation and within walking distance of many tourist attractions (15 minutes to the London Eye). The staff were wonderful. The food in the pub was great and we ate their a few times. There was also a Tesco Express across the street for breakfast and snacks foods. The bed was very comfortable with quality linens and the bathroom was stocked with lovely toiletries. We has no issues with pub or street noise.
Location is ideal! The hostel is about 10 minutes walking from London eye and Big Ben is not far as well! I didn't use the metro a lot during my stay, this is a very good point! Rate is not so expensive considering London and the location. Rooms are ok (except for the lockers) and quiet.
Excellent hotel for stay to sightseeing London. Near Waterloo Station and bus stops to many places. You can walk to Westminster, near London Eye. Very clean and day by day room service. Good breakfast.
Friendly staff and lovely area. Has everything you could want in a room, they even had spare items on hand incase you forgot something. Was able to see a bit of the london eye through the window.
Fantastic location close to Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament and London Eye. We were staying in order to go to a Robbie Williams concert at the Royal Albert Hall, so all very convenient.
I bought tickets in advance because in 2014 they started charging to see the London Eye fireworks. I got there around 7PM with my friends and there were so many people getting in! Took me a while to get past the place they check your tickets but after you pass that you get plenty of time and space to settle. The fireworks were beautiful. To anyone planning to spend the NYE in London: bring food, water and get a good spot as soon as you can. You're probably only going to be able to leave the area around 1AM anyway. The subways stay open until late but they also get super crowded with people heading back home.
I would recommend the combination of attractions, and to book in advance. The London Eye was an amazing experience, the London Dungeons & Madame Tussaud's. The SeaLife Aquarium was good & we were able to casually walk around in there.
The main attractions can be seen and information gained from different types of tours from the London Eye and City Bus Tours to digital audio yours within different individual attractions visited.
