somewhat underwhelming. if you don't get the fast track option expect around a 30 min wait. views are surprisingly obstructed on the opposite side of the Thames - couldn't even see the gherkin! I did expect it to be far more spectacular than what it was.
What an amazing ride for seeing the whole of London and further a. Field. A great experience, it is a slow ride round in enclosed seating allowing one to take in the vast views and sights of all London and beyond. Well worth trip.
This is great we found less crowds in the early evening (which makes for good photos as well). Also it is worth noting it doesn't actually stop for getting on and off, (it doesn't go fast), but handy to know if you are old or have little kids.
The hotel staff were really friendly and as we were early offered an alternative room so we could check straight in, which we declined as we had a Thames rocket booked and just wanted to leave our bags. The room was nicely laid out with a fab shower and the comfiest bed and a view of the Shard. Great location for the shard and London eye as directly in-between.
Lovely little room and bathroom, perfect for what we needed after going to a gig at the O2 arena perfect location, met one of the owners who was really lovely and friendly, check in so easy and simple! Great view of the shard and london eye too. Really close to underground station (dlr & jubilee line) very handy
Location is excellent; close to the London Eye, Westminster isn't far away, plenty lively pubs & restaurants around the corner from the hotel too. Breakfast was really fresh and tasty, hot food and cold counters were kept well stocked up during our stay.
The Leonardo is located brilliant right on the doorstep of St Paul's Cathederal and within 5-7 minutes of the underground station. A small walk will take you to the river side an across the bridge towards the London Eye
Perfect hotel, with excellent location, few minutes to Big Ben and London Eye, and 20 min to Oxford street walking. Breakfast was great, rooms big and bad very comfy. Definitly will came back.
Location is great, near to London eye, Lambeth North tube station. Booked an accessible room, it was spacious.
Great location, only 10 minutes walk to Big Ben and London Eye. Very clean and bed was very comfy as well.
I bought tickets in advance because in 2014 they started charging to see the London Eye fireworks. I got there around 7PM with my friends and there were so many people getting in! Took me a while to get past the place they check your tickets but after you pass that you get plenty of time and space to settle. The fireworks were beautiful. To anyone planning to spend the NYE in London: bring food, water and get a good spot as soon as you can. You're probably only going to be able to leave the area around 1AM anyway. The subways stay open until late but they also get super crowded with people heading back home.
I would recommend the combination of attractions, and to book in advance. The London Eye was an amazing experience, the London Dungeons & Madame Tussaud's. The SeaLife Aquarium was good & we were able to casually walk around in there.
The main attractions can be seen and information gained from different types of tours from the London Eye and City Bus Tours to digital audio yours within different individual attractions visited.
