Very good venue - to see it all would take days. Best advice is to pick a section and really look at it - gives you an excuse for a return trip to Edinburgh to see another bit of the museum, along with all the other atractions.
Do not miss this place! It is huge and we could have spent all day there. An incredibly beautiful building. It was quite overwhelming at first to know where to start as there isn’t a route as such to follow. It was very busy and crowded in some areas and empty in others. Impossible to sit down in the cafe as it was so busy but there are lots of seats fitted around if you need a break. We almost missed it but there is a roof terrace which is well worth a visit with super views of the city. And it’s free!!!! But there are donation stations for making your own choice of what to give. A duper super place!!
so very much art to view. Very well presented in each room. Of course, much was not familiar to me, from America, but at least I was aware of many, many of the artists. Thoroughly enjoyed the hours spent going through the museum.
This place I spent the whole day at, so much to see from Dolly the lamb to whale bone scrimshaw. Everything from inventions to explores treasures brought back from all over the world. Fascinating museum, very educational.
Excellent hotel, quality interior, spacious room on the top floor with a balcony terrace and great view. Freshly cooked breakfast. Great vibe, helpful and friendly staff, all of them. Excellent location in one of the best parts of Edinburgh (we’ve stayed in quite a few!). Very safe, excellent choice of places to eat and drink. Couple of minutes from the National Museum of Scotland where we spent the whole day.
Ten Hill Place was a convenient and comfortable location from which to explore Old Town Edinburgh. It is close to Waverly Station, the Royal Mile and our favorite for this trip, the National Museum of Scotland. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful, and the hotel restaurant provided excellent breakfasts.
Great location close to Waverly station and within walking distance of the places I wanted to visit (National Museum of Scotland and Edinburgh Castle). Clean sheets, bathrooms, and showers. Good value for the price when considering location and cleanliness.
