We did the behind the scenes tour which was excellent. It was descriptive, telling us all about the history of the theatre but fun at the same time as we tried on wigs and noses, with lots of fake blood.
If you are in the circle seats.......sit well back, with a straight spine......they can become a little uncomfortable otherwise! Certainly would recommend the whole experience.......even visiting the gift shop!!
Check your seat position if you are informed of it being a restricted view. Our view was so restricted we could see less than half of the stage, none of the upstage set and a great deal of the top and back of the actors heads.
We bought our tickets online the day of the show and found great seating and availablity. The website for booking a show is amazing as when you choose your seat they show an image of what it would look like to watch a show from that seat. This was so helpful!
Before my trip I’d checked online and found out that all shows were sold out for the day & night of my visit. Tip: get online when you’re in town and see if there may have been cancellations. In my case I was able to get a fantastic seat an hour before the show!!!
Double check dinner reservations before arrival. Mistakesan happen. Our Circle Bar dinner reservation was changed to the upper restaurant with no notice. Though we had allowed two hours for dinner, we spent half an hour sorting the change out and climbing stairs. It made dinner rushed. Worse was that the host gave us not so much as a " sorry about the mixup". The waiter was top notch.
Great location just across the street from the Royal Shakespeare Company Theater and enjoying the play there was a highlight of our Stratford visit
