    Lovely well kept museum.

Lovely well kept museum. Thought it was rather expensive at £11 for an adult, but you can revisit as many times as you wish for a year without paying again! Well worth a visit, and you can’t really go to Haworth without visiting there!

    Recommended.

Recommended. Gift shop and well-presented period house, with good furniture and signage. Does a great job of summarising the Brontes. No toilet, but there are lots of pubs and restaurants nearby. Only real negative - it was too well heated and comfortable. I remember a visit from 40 years ago when it was cold and damp and I could picture how the family died.

This is a top-ranking small museum; a great deal of thought has gone into making the visitor experience rewarding, and the exhibitions are regularly up-dated, with special installations and events, so it's worth paying more than one visit.

The main attraction is the Bronte Parsonage which is well worth a visit if you are a fan of the Bronte's work. Charlotte's presence is the strongest but there are personal possessions from all the family which are quite evocative. The museum shop is a bit disappointing. I was expecting to be able to buy some high quality souvenirs like gold or silver earrings, necklaces etc. and maybe some replicas of the Bronte's personal possessions on show in the museum but it's mainly books, postcards, and the usual tea towels and coasters etc.

Your ticket entitles you to more than one visit, so we went twice in the day. On the first visit we enjoyed the information, artefacts and belongings and later in the day (when less busy) took photos of the rooms and enjoyed a picnic in the Bronte parsonage garden whilst reading our books.
