The staff were exceptional. I had arrived from Australia to be with my dying mother. I was traumatised when arriving at the hotel. The lovely managing receptionist treated me with compassion and respect. I felt safe at such a vulnerable time in my life and being alone without my Australian family.

Lots of interesting shops and some decent places to eat in the Victoria Centre. The indoor market is a must-see. You're bound to find something unexpected to buy in the indoor market. The indoor market isn't open Sundays or bank holidays, though.
