I have visited Weymouth numerous times and love walking...
I have visited Weymouth numerous times and love walking around the harbour. It is interesting to see the bridge opening to let boats in and out. On this last trip a dolphin followed our boat up into the harbour which was an unexpected bonus. The atmosphere around the harbour is so pleasant.

A lot more could be made of it, I walked down to where the ferries used to depart from for the Channel Islands. I followed the old rail line still set in the road, a pity something cant be done with this to the advantage of the harbourside.

We stayed in a comfortable second floor room, looking out over the boats colourful houses of Weymouth Harbour. After a tasty full English breakfast we visited the beach, which is a minute or two's walk outside the front door. We only stayed one night, so had to park the public Pavillion car park but even that was only three or four minutes walk away.
